The veil between the worlds is thinning, so we’re having a party! Join us as Whatcom Pagans celebrates Samhain in macabre fashion with an almost traditional Halloween party; food, music, activities, much spooky merriment, and something extra. This is a masquerade, so come in costume, or don’t, but it’s encouraged.
The party starts when the doors open at 5:43pm, which is sunset. You can mill around outside before that if you like. The ritual will start after 6:30pm. Expect the unexpected, but here are some hints:
· Not just a party, this is also a serious ritual to honor our ancestors and beloved dead, so bring a photo or memento of someone to add to the altar, if you can.
· We will have a Jack-o-Lantern contest, so bring your best pre-carved pumpkin to be judged.
· There will also be a costume contest, so wear a costume and/or mask if you’d like.
· Come prepared for the weather. There will be a point where you might want to go outside in the darkening woods. Bring a warm layer and shoes if you think you might need them.
This event is a potluck, as usual, so bring something to share if you can. Please label all ingredients in each dish. We ask for a $10 donation per person, but no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. We will also be collecting for the Food Bank, so bring any non-perishable, non-expired food items you would like to donate. There will be a Magical Move-along table, so if you have any Pagan related items you would like to give away, please bring them.
We look forward to seeing you there!
